14A- Halfway Reflection

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
One behavior that I have used and developed while taking this course is to be very proactive with the work that is given and looking at each assignment at the beginning of the week so I know what is in front of me and what I have to do.  Doing this has allowed me to be able to turn in all of the assignments on time along with getting the grades necessary.  Another behavior that I have been using is paying attention to detail.  I think that having the "Examples of Excellent Student Submissions" tool has been very helpful and has given me a lot of success.  There were a lot of times where I was not sure how to go about one of the assignments and looked to that for help.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
One moment that I felt like giving up during this course was when we first began to do interviews for our ideas.  Not that I have an issue talking to other people but talking to the right people was making me panic.  Being an online student, I do not have the opportunities as on campus students because they have a whole community that they can go to along with possible sections they can go to.  Having to do interviews really has made me come out of my shell and work with people that I typically wouldn't.
3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
One tip that I would give to next semester's student about fostering the skills that support tenacity are to continue to work in this course and to not give up.  This course provides a lot of work but it is definitely doable if you just stay consistent and stay on top of all of your assignments.  Another tip that I would give is to look back on your past accomplishments in other classes to help motivate you to push through this one.  UF is a very competitive school with very tough courses and I am sure everyone has gotten through a tough course thinking that they wouldn't have done as well as they did.  Lastly, I would recommend to keep an open mind and not be afraid to open yourself up to other people.  You can really take advantage of your interviews if you open up to the right people who are in the field that you are trying to get into with your ideas.

  1. I really like your response to this assignment. I think what you said about getting ahead on work is key and I believe it lets you value the work more than doing it at the last minute like I am doing right now.Love the picture at the bottom to of DJ I think its a great touch #re2pect

  2. I like your reflection and what it says about the class and it's workload. Big Derek Jeter fan as well. Well done making it this far into the entrepreneurial process and continue pushing forward towards your goal.
